Getac Technology Corporation has announced the launch of CommandCore, a new drone control station built for professionals who operate drones in demanding and mission-critical environments. The solution targets industries including defense, public safety, and utilities, where reliable and rugged equipment is essential. CommandCore functions as a fully adaptable drone control station that combines Getac’s rugged hardware with industry-specific accessories, payloads, and software based on each customer’s individual needs and use case.
At the core of CommandCore is Getac’s Ground Control Station, a centralized hub designed for real-time data processing and drone management in extreme conditions. Customers can choose from several Getac devices to power their GCS setup, including the ZX80 fully rugged Android tablet, the UX10 fully rugged Windows tablet, the S510 rugged Windows laptop, the B360 fully rugged Windows laptop, and the X600 fully rugged Windows workstation. The form factor can also be customized across multiple configurations, from a fully integrated design with built-in drone controls to a suitcase-style dual display setup suited for mobile command and control activity.
CommandCore Drone Control Station Built for Demanding Operations
CommandCore is engineered to hold up in unpredictable and high-pressure environments without sacrificing performance. Its rugged design is backed by a scalable and configurable system architecture that allows for ongoing customization as operational requirements evolve. For the defense sector, Getac draws on its advanced in-house manufacturing capabilities to offer tailored configurations that support multi-domain operations across land, sea, and air. Rather than locking customers into a fixed setup, Getac preserves maximum flexibility within the CommandCore architecture to accommodate unique mission requirements. The CommandCore ground control station also supports interoperability with third-party technologies and is offered in both Android and Windows versions, built on a high-performance computing platform suited for real-time field operations.
Public safety professionals are also a key audience for CommandCore. Drone reconnaissance has become an important part of disaster response, from fires and floods to emergency search and rescue situations. CommandCore lets first responders gather critical information quickly, whether from a nearby mobile command vehicle or directly on scene using a handheld GCS. For utilities operators, the system supports remote inspection of infrastructure including power lines, substations, pipelines, and railways through waypoint guidance from a centralized operations center. It also provides reliable line of sight remote control for assessing hard-to-reach rural areas, reducing the need for crews to physically navigate dangerous terrain.
“As the use of drones becomes increasingly widespread throughout numerous industries around the world, demand for comprehensive remote control solutions is also growing significantly. CommandCore answers this demand, providing professionals who work in challenging environments every day with a highly customizable, rugged control solution they can rely on to get the job done when it matters most.” Charlie Gibbs, Director of Product Development, Getac North America
Getac Debuts CommandCore at AUSA Global Force 2026
Getac is exhibiting at the 2026 AUSA Global Force Symposium and Exposition, taking place March 24 through 26 at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, Alabama. The event is located near Redstone Arsenal, the center of gravity for U.S. Army aviation and aerospace defense programs. Attendees can visit Booth 3000 to view CommandCore products in person, including S510 office dock configurations, the UX10 accessory version, and the ZX80 chest mount version. The timing of the launch also connects to broader trends in military drone adoption, as seen recently in coverage of an Army UAV contract awarded through Redstone Arsenal.
Getac states that CommandCore aligns with the U.S. Army’s ongoing “Transformation in Contact” initiative, describing the platform as a field-tested tool designed to support modernization at the front lines. The company says CommandCore supports intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance operations from expeditionary command posts as well as mobile and dismounted forces. With drone use expanding across sectors worldwide, Getac is positioning CommandCore as a professional-grade drone control station built to handle the realities of field operations in some of the most challenging environments professionals face today.
