Charlotte, North Carolina based Lucid Bots drone company has announced a $20 million Series B funding round, bringing its total capital raised to $34 million. The round was co-led by Cubit Capital and Idea Fund Partners, with additional participation from Taylor Rhodes, WaterStone Impact Fund, and Front Porch Ventures, along with existing investors. The raise was described as oversubscribed, reflecting strong investor demand for the company’s autonomous exterior cleaning platform.

Lucid Bots builds robots, software, and support infrastructure that professional cleaning operators use on commercial jobs. Its flagship product, the Sherpa cleaning drone, is deployed by operators across the United States for cleaning building exteriors, windows, and facades. According to the company, its operator network has now generated more than $75 million in exterior cleaning revenue using Lucid systems, and the company is approaching 1,000 robots in active use nationwide. Lucid Bots also recently launched the Lavo AI, a fully autonomous pressure washing robot designed for unattended ground-level operation with its own mobile app and cloud data layer.

Lucid Bots Drone Platform Introduces Lucid Refresh Subscription

A central focus of the Series B announcement is the rollout of Lucid Refresh, a full-service subscription offering that gives cleaning operators access to the complete Lucid system without a large upfront capital purchase. The subscription includes the Sherpa cleaning drone, the Lavo AI autonomous pressure washing robot, Lucid Command fleet management software, operator training, job intelligence, and an equipment loaner guarantee. Lucid describes the model as giving operators a way to take on exterior cleaning jobs they could not previously handle, without committing to a large capital outlay.

“Our customers are running cleaning businesses. They don’t need a robot — they need a way to take on jobs they couldn’t do before, execute them better than the competition, and do it without betting their company on a capital purchase. That’s what we built. It’s less like buying equipment and more like adding a robotics division to your business that you can deploy on any job, any time.” Vic Pellicano, President and Chief Platform Officer of Lucid Bots

The company’s customer base includes independent operators as well as enterprise accounts such as Disney and Sunbelt Rentals. Lucid says the Sherpa drone platform reduces job completion time by two to five times compared to traditional methods, with operator payback periods of less than two months. The company also reported that 93 percent of new business comes from inbound interest, and that it generated as much revenue in 2025 as in its first seven years combined. Series B Funding to Expand U.S. Manufacturing and AI Capabilities

Lucid Bots plans to use the new capital to scale commercial operations, expand domestic manufacturing capacity, and accelerate its robotics autonomy goals. The company operates a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing facility in Charlotte, North Carolina. That domestic footprint provides compliance advantages under federal mandates for U.S.-built robotic systems and positions the company to serve commercial and government customers who require domestically manufactured equipment. Lucid Bots is also a member of the NVIDIA Inception Program and is actively developing its AI and autonomy capabilities in partnership with NVIDIA.

Investors pointed to the company’s real-world data advantage as a key differentiator. Lucid systems have logged hundreds of thousands of hours of exterior cleaning across a wide range of building types, surface materials, and weather conditions. That operational dataset trains the AI embedded in every Lucid Bots drone and robot, and is cited as a compounding advantage that competitors would have difficulty replicating. Andrew Ashur, Founder and CEO of Lucid Bots, described the company’s ambitions ahead of the next phase of growth.

“We’re on an ambitious journey to give software a body to do physically productive work that the world needs and become the USA’s leading supplier of modular drones and robots. This capital allows us to meet the massive market demand we’re seeing today while expanding our product offerings and accelerating our manufacturing and autonomy goals. The next 18 months will be transformative for our product roadmap and the industry at large.” Andrew Ashur, Founder and CEO of Lucid Bots

Lucid Bots was founded in 2018 and is backed by Cubit Capital, Idea Fund Partners, Danu Ventures, Y Combinator, and others. The company designs and manufactures all products at its Charlotte facility, and total funding now stands at $34 million following the close of this round.
