Sky Elements has set two Guinness World Records titles after flying seven large-scale drone shows over three consecutive nights in Blue Ridge, Texas. Working with Damoda America, the company launched 71,207 drones in a single week, which is the most ever recorded. The run included an 11,000-drone performance that the company describes as the largest drone show ever flown in America.
The week also produced a second title. The team flew 10,183 drones to create the largest aerial display of a mythical creature, well beyond the previous mark of 2,247. The company, which calls itself the leading drone show operator in the United States, announced the results on Oct. 2, 2026. It said the two titles are its 18th and 19th world records.
How Sky Elements Flew 71,207 Drones in One Week
The record attempt ran from Sunday, Sept. 27, through Tuesday, Sept. 29. Across those three nights, Sky Elements flew six shows of 10,000 drones each and one show of 11,000 drones. The combined total passed the previous record of 55,939 drones flown in one week. By the company’s count, the effort added up to more than 71,000 drone flights over North Texas.
Staging shows of that size on back to back nights meant the same fleet had to go up again and again. Crews recharged and relaunched the aircraft between flights so the next performance could follow. An official Guinness World Records adjudicator verified each of those flights, according to the company, before the weekly total was recognized as a new record.
Chief executive Rick Boss presented the week as proof of what an American team can fly. He said Sky Elements already performs on the world stage, pointing to its work at Formula 1 in Monaco and its September 11th Memorial show in New York City. He contrasted that reach with where the largest shows have taken place so far.
“Until now, shows of this size have happened in Asia and the Middle East. This week, we proved an American team can fly them here at home, and we did it night after night.” Rick Boss, CEO of Sky Elements
Dragon Formation Sets Mythical Creature Drone Record
The second title came from a single formation. A dragon made up of 10,183 drones was flown to set the Guinness World Records mark for the largest aerial display of a mythical creature, replacing the earlier record of 2,247. Together with the weekly total, that result brings the company to 19 Guinness World Records titles, based on the count it gives for itself. Both new titles were earned during the same three nights in Blue Ridge.
The dragon was only one of the designs seen that week. Sky Elements pilots, engineers, and designers worked onsite with Damoda America to build original formations for every show. Those designs filled the Texas sky with a soaring eagle, a lion, turning gears, Pegasus, Americana imagery, and scenes from deep space. The attempt closed with recreations of Noah’s Ark and a black hole, followed by a UFO sequence.
Boss gave much of the credit to the partner company. He said flying more than 10,000 drones at a time, over and over, takes an extraordinary team, and he described Damoda America as a true partner throughout the effort. He also thanked the firm for its commitment and for helping bring a show of this scale to American skies.
Sky Elements describes itself as the largest drone light show company in the United States, with a national team of FAA-certified pilots, artists, and producers. The company, which has appeared on America’s Got Talent, flies its drones in all 50 states and internationally. Its team specializes in turnkey, fully customized shows for communities, corporations, tourism boards, professional sports teams, and private events.
The company is also pointing to what the record week means for the shows it can offer next. It says the performance positions Sky Elements to deliver displays featuring 10,000 drones or more for sports leagues, municipalities, brands, and major events nationwide. Media from the Blue Ridge shows has been made available by the company alongside the announcement.
