ZeroEyes, the company behind the first AI gun detection video analytics platform to receive full U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act Designation, has announced a major expansion of its security offerings. The updated platform now moves well beyond firearm detection to include drone security capabilities, knife detection, real-time threat geolocation, and a broader suite of analytics tools. These new features are available in limited release and represent a significant shift toward combining acute threat detection with everyday safety operations.

The expansion reflects the company’s broader ambition to become a single, trusted platform for organizations looking to secure, detect, and respond to a wide range of critical security events. At the heart of the platform is ZeroEyes’ established computer vision technology, which currently protects thousands of buildings for customers in nearly every U.S. state. Now the company is layering on new tools designed to address threats that go far beyond firearms, including the growing role of drone security in both detection and response operations.

Drone Security and New Threat Detection Capabilities

The expanded platform is organized into three product lines: Secure, Detect, and Respond. The Secure category includes expert site surveys, comprehensive mapping, and the recently launched ZeroLink solution, which delivers AI gun detection and situational awareness in virtually any environment. The Detect line covers AI detection of guns, knives, intruders, crowds, abandoned objects, and more. The Respond category is where drone security plays a central role, incorporating drone-based AI alongside real-time threat geolocation and the ZeroEyes Operations Center, with investigation analytics on the way.

Among the most notable new capabilities is knife detection, an AI tool built to identify blades of six inches or greater. ZeroEyes says this feature was developed in response to growing demand both in the United States and internationally, as blades of that size are most commonly tied to violent incidents. The company has also introduced real-time threat geolocation, which tracks individuals of interest across multiple camera feeds using non-biometric visual characteristics. This allows security teams to follow a person of interest across an entire facility and build a clear timeline of their movement, helping responders act faster after an initial threat is detected.

“ZeroEyes continues to push the boundaries of what AI-powered security can deliver. We felt that the time was right to leverage the unmatched experience and success that we’ve built in AI gun detection to give our customers a comprehensive security solution that they can trust from preparation to detection to response.” Mike Lahiff, CEO and founder of ZeroEyes

A general analytics suite rounds out the new offerings. This includes detection of intruders such as people, vehicles, drones, and boats, as well as crowd formation monitoring, abandoned object alerts, and camera obstruction detection. Real-time camera health monitoring is also now available, and customers can configure alerts based on their specific needs. The ability to detect drones as part of intrusion monitoring adds another layer of drone security to the platform, making it relevant to organizations concerned about unauthorized unmanned aircraft in their airspace. The AI gun detection technology that made ZeroEyes an industry leader now serves as the foundation for this much wider set of tools.

From Firearm Detection to a Full Drone Security Platform

Founded in 2018 by Navy SEALs and elite technologists, ZeroEyes originally set out to become the leading solution for detecting guns and safeguarding schools, churches, healthcare facilities, businesses, and other organizations. The company has since grown into the recognized industry leader in AI gun detection, with its patented software analyzing existing digital security camera feeds and alerting authorities within seconds when a firearm is identified. Now that ZeroEyes has established itself in that space, the company is turning its attention to a broader set of acute safety threats, and public safety applications are expanding as a result.

The ZeroEyes Operations Center is a key differentiator for the company. Staffed around the clock by specially trained U.S. military and law enforcement veterans, the center provides human verification for every detection. This approach is designed to reduce false alarms and ensure that alerts include actionable intelligence, such as images, the location of the threat, and descriptions of the individuals involved. With the addition of drone security tools and enhanced analytics, the Operations Center will play an even larger role in helping organizations manage complex security environments.

ZeroEyes is headquartered in the Greater Philadelphia area and counts the U.S. Department of Defense, leading public school districts, colleges, universities, healthcare facilities, Fortune 500 corporate campuses, shopping malls, and big box retail stores among its customers. The company also provides tech consulting, installation assistance, and practice drills for active shooter events. With these new product categories, ZeroEyes is positioning itself not just as a gun detection tool but as a comprehensive security platform built to handle the full spectrum of modern safety challenges.
