XTI Aerospace, Inc. (Nasdaq: XTIA) has announced that its subsidiary Drone Nerds, LLC has partnered with DBOX to bring the DBOX drone docking system to public safety and government customers across the United States. The Dallas based company, which describes itself as an aerospace and advanced technology platform, said the agreement widens the range of autonomous options available through the Drone Nerds enterprise solutions portfolio. Drone Nerds serves commercial, enterprise and government customers and will act as the exclusive U.S. distributor of the docking technology.
DBOX is sold as an integrated package rather than a single piece of hardware. It combines a fixed docking station, a networking station, compatible aircraft and the DBOX Ground Control Software into one platform built for repeatable aerial missions. The design targets agencies starting or growing drone-as-first-responder programs that want remotely managed unmanned aerial vehicle operations rather than crews launching aircraft by hand at every call.
What the DBOX Drone Docking System Adds for Agencies
The addition strengthens the ability of Drone Nerds to support agencies using drones for incident response, search operations, area surveillance, perimeter monitoring and command center situational awareness. Those missions sit at the center of the company’s public safety drone solutions work with first responders and government teams. Compatibility with select Parrot platforms also opens a path for existing Parrot operators who are weighing a move toward dock based and remotely managed operations.
“Partnering with DBOX advances our strategy to provide public safety and government customers with a more complete and customizable approach to autonomous drone operations, including drone-as-first-responder programs. By combining DBOX docking infrastructure and software with our integration, training, support, and existing technology partnerships, we can provide both ready-to-deploy systems and customized solutions aligned with each organization’s operational requirements. This partnership also creates new opportunities within our current customer base and expands our role across the program lifecycle, supporting long-term growth for Drone Nerds.” Jeremy Schneiderman, CEO of Drone Nerds
Parrot Aircraft Compatible With the DBOX PRT
The configuration heading to U.S. agencies is the DBOX PRT, designed to operate with the Parrot Anafi UKR, Anafi UKR GOV and Anafi UKR XLR aircraft. That gives buyers a dock based option built around a defined set of Parrot airframes. Drone Nerds sells and supports hardware across a broad product line for enterprise and government users, and the DBOX drone docking agreement adds fixed infrastructure to that mix.
According to DBOX product materials, the three compatible aircraft cover a range of endurance and connectivity needs. The Parrot Anafi UKR uses MARS 8 channel and LoRa connectivity, weighs 1,024 grams, flies for up to 38 minutes and carries a stated thrust to weight ratio of 2.7. The Anafi UKR GOV moves to Wi-Fi, LoRa and 5G multi link connectivity with an extended battery, up to 70 minutes of flight time and a stated range of up to 40 kilometers. The Anafi UKR XLR offers MARS 10 channel, LoRa and 5G multi link connectivity with the same extended battery, flight time and range figures.
Manufacturer specifications for the compatible Parrot lineup also list optical navigation for flight in GNSS denied conditions, resistance to jamming and an operating window running from minus 36 degrees Celsius to 50 degrees Celsius. The aircraft carry an IP53 rating along with dual RGB and infrared imaging with 35x zoom. TAA, NDAA and Blue sUAS designations are listed across the compatible offering, which matters for agencies working under federal procurement and sourcing rules.
Docking Station Hardware and Availability
The DBOX PRT docking station is built to sit outdoors and monitor its own environment. Integrated rain, wind, temperature and humidity sensors are included, along with four security cameras. Connectivity covers Ethernet and dual SIM 5G access, and the system supports physical USB, Wi-Fi and 5G aircraft data transfer depending on the version selected.
The DBOX drone docking platform was developed by JSC IT logika, a company headquartered in Panevezys, Lithuania. Beyond public safety, it is designed to support automated operations for infrastructure inspection, smart city monitoring, security, agriculture and remote asset monitoring. That breadth suits agencies wanting one system for several recurring aerial tasks.
“DBOX PRT helps public safety organizations move from individual drone deployments toward more consistent, remotely managed operations. Through Drone Nerds, agencies and current Parrot users will have access to the integration expertise, training, and ongoing support needed to evaluate autonomous drone infrastructure and incorporate it into their operational workflows.” Dr. Linas Gelazanskas, CEO at DBOX
Customers looking for details on availability, configuration choices and pricing are being directed to contact Drone Nerds directly. The company was established in 2014 and provides hardware distribution, training, service, repair and lifecycle support through its parent, XTI Aerospace, which also runs two development stage divisions focused on autonomous defense systems and domestic manufacturing of unmanned systems components.
